Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

Draft template notice: This policy was drafted as a starting point and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Privacy law (including state-specific requirements like the CCPA in California) varies by where your tenants and business are located. Have a qualified attorney review this before it governs a real, live application collecting personal information.

What we collect

When you browse RentAtlas, we don't collect anything beyond standard web traffic information. When you create an account, book a tour, submit a rental application, or message us, we collect the information you provide, including:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Application details: date of birth, driver's license/ID number, residence history, employment and income information, and any documents you upload (pay stubs, ID, proof of income)
  • Messages you send us through the platform

How we use it

We use this information to evaluate rental applications, schedule tours, communicate with you, and run background or credit checks you've authorized as part of an application.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We use third-party service providers to run this platform, who process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (account authentication and database hosting), Cloudinary (photo and document storage), and Resend (email delivery). Each is bound by its own privacy and security practices.

Data retention

We retain application information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
